Celebrate Dog Man Day

Come celebrate Dog Man Day at the AKC Museum of the Dog!

Our tails are wagging in anticipation of the 11th book in the series, Dog Man: Twenty Thousand Fleas Under the Sea publishing March 28th.

Spend the day at the Museum celebrating everyone's favorite canine superhero while learning about working dogs. There will be guided craft activities, the opportunity to meet and pet dogs from a breed often used in police work, demonstrations by the NYPD K9 Transit Bureau, and an appearance by Dog Man himself! Additionally, at the event, you can enter to win a free family 4 pack of tickets to Dog Man the Musical now playing at the New World Stages through April 30th!

This event is free for Members and included with General Admission tickets.

See below for information on how to reserve a time to take photos with Dog Man:

Purchase a Family Photo Package here and reserve a time to take a photo with Dog Man at the AKC Museum of the Dog's "Celebrate Dog Man Day" event. Our costumed character will be available in 20 minute time slots and you must be in line for your photo before the end time listed on the slot you selected. Our staff will use your phone or camera and take pictures for your family group of up to 5 people. The package includes one swag bag of themed items per package. You must purchase General Admission tickets in addition to the package to attend the event. 

Members receive a discount on the Family Photo Package as well as in the gift shop.

Out of courtesy to our neighbors, only service dogs and invited demonstration dogs are allowed in the museum.

Accessibility

Service animals are welcome in the museum. The museum entrance is wheelchair accessible via the building’s main plaza on the corner of Park Ave and E 40th Street. Accessible elevators are located on the first floor of the museum to the left of the admissions desk and gift shop. Public restrooms include accessible facilities.

Non-flash photography is permitted in the Museum for personal (non commercial) use except where noted. Flash photography, videography and tripods are not permitted in the Museum.
