Furry Friday: Drawing Dogs with Oliver Perry

Here’s your chance to visit the AKC MoD with your favorite furry friends!

Roam the galleries with fellow dog owners and lovers during our pet friendly hours.
Free for Members at the Individual level and above; Non-Members $20 Humans, $5 Dogs. 

*If you will be attending with your dog(s), you will be required to sign a waiver upon entry.

Special for August 18: Drawing Dogs with Oliver Perry

Oliver will teach Furry Friday attendees how to illustrate dogs, mainly focusing on expression and breed-specific characteristics using their dogs as their muse! Two drawing sessions will be held: 6:15pm and 7:00pm; Program attendees will be welcome to enter the Museum anytime after 6pm, and will have reserved access to seating in the library for the class at their selected, ticketed time. Art supplies will be provided.

Oliver Perry is an illustrator based in New York City. Oliver earned his BFA in Illustration at The School of Visual Arts, graduating with High Honors. He enjoys drawing in a charming and whimsical style in various mediums, including ink and watercolor. His artwork has been featured on Link NYC kiosks and exclusive limited edition Puma Apparel. His work has also been published in Cricket Magazine, captivating young readers. Furthermore, his work has been exhibited at the Society of Illustrators (NYC and L.A.). Oliver won a World Illustration Award in the Children's Book Publishing category, and his work was selected to be included in The New York Historical Society Covid-19 Collection. Oliver's design and branding experience includes being chosen to participate in the Young Ones Portfolio Club Art Direction Mentorship. Oliver has educated children and adults at The Society of Illustrators, Spark Art Studio, and Paint The Town LLC (for Fortune 500 companies). In his leisure time, Oliver loves sketching in Washington Square Park, petting people's dogs, and performing as a magician! Follow Oliver on Instagram!

Out of courtesy to our neighbors, only service dogs and invited demonstration dogs are allowed in the museum.

Accessibility

Service animals are welcome in the museum. The museum entrance is wheelchair accessible via the building’s main plaza on the corner of Park Ave and E 40th Street. Accessible elevators are located on the first floor of the museum to the left of the admissions desk and gift shop. Public restrooms include accessible facilities.
