Member Preview: Dogs of War & Peace Exhibition

Members are invited to join us for a special Exhibition Preview of our newest exhibit Dogs of War & Peace, open March 16 through July 19, 2022. Ten life-sized, carved-wood allegorical memorials by sculptor James Mellick will be on display from his “Wounded Warrior Dogs” and “Over the Rainbow Bridge” collections, along with the museum’s permanent collection, which includes sculptures, paintings, collars, vests, photographs and more. Jim Mellick will be at the event, meeting and greeting Members and guests and discussing his work.

The event will be from 4:00-6:00pm and Members are invited to visit at their leisure. Please make sure to log in on the upper right hand corner to be able to reserve your Member tickets. Light snacks & refreshments will be available.

Out of courtesy to our neighbors, only service dogs and invited demonstration dogs are allowed in the museum.

Accessibility

Service animals are welcome in the museum. The museum entrance is wheelchair accessible via the building’s main plaza on the corner of Park Ave and E 40th Street. Accessible elevators are located on the first floor of the museum to the left of the admissions desk and gift shop. Public restrooms include accessible facilities.
