Summer Storytime Series: Dachshunds

Saturday, July 15
11am

This summer, we are bringing in authors AND dogs for an exciting series of storytime events! At each program, participants will get to meet and chat with a children's book author, create a craft in theme with the book, and get up close with real dogs similar to those featured in the story. Pick up your own copy of the book in our shop and get it autographed right then and there!

On July 15th, join author Doug Salati for a reading of his book, Hot Dog.

Doug Salati is the critically acclaimed creator of the 2023 Caldecott Medal and Ezra Jack Keats Award-winning picture book, Hot
Dog
. He is also the illustrator of Tomie dePaola's In a Small Kingdom and Matthew Farina's Lawrence in the Fall, an Ezra Jack Keats
Honor Book, which the Wall Street Journal described as a "handsome excursion." Doug graduated from the Illustration as Visual Essay
master’s program at the School of Visual Arts in 2014 and was a 2015 Sendak Fellow. His illustration work has been recognized by 3x3
Illustration, American Illustration, and the Society of Illustrators. He lives and works in New York City.

Visitors of all ages will enjoy this event. Whether you are excited to hear the story or just want to visit with the dogs. This event is FREE for Members and included with General Admission.
