New York City may be a concrete jungle, but that doesn't mean there aren't places to relax amoung the trees! Besides Central Park, New York City contains several other parks to spend some time, several of which are only a couple minutes away from the Museum of the Dog. Many parks also offer free programming for families of all ages–after you explore the Museum of the Dog, explore the great outdoors!

 

Bryant Park

Known for its lush gardens, Bryant Park offers free activities year-round. Visited by more than 12 million people each year, Bryant Park is also known as “Manhattan’s Town Square.”

St. Vartan Park

Murray Hill’s biggest playground, this park offers a variety of play features and activities for kids of all ages. Come to St. Vartan Park to unwind and meet some locals.

Herald Square

Take a quick break to grab a bite to eat or a drink in Herald Square, once home to the New York Herald newspaper. Stop by during Thanksgiving to take in the splendor of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Accessibility

Service animals are welcome in the museum. The museum entrance is wheelchair accessible via the building’s main plaza on the corner of Park Ave and E 40th Street. Accessible elevators are located on the first floor of the museum to the left of the admissions desk and gift shop. Public restrooms include accessible facilities.
